Matthew Wellman – President

Matthew Wellman is the founder of IXION studios, where he primarily focusses on bringing 3D animation to a variety of clients in different fields. He has delivered on numerous Award-Winning projects with some of the world’s most disciplined creative teams. Films, Documentaries, Advertisement, Architectural visualizations, 3D animations for mobile Applications, XR (Virtual Reality and Augmented Reality) Experiences and R&D as well as Gameplay & Cinematic animations in the gaming industry. In 2005, he began his studies in traditional animation at Algonquin college, where his eye for the arts and ability to recognize strong animation was developed. In 2009, he completed the Ubisoft Campus in Montréal, with a specialization in animation. After his studies, Matthew has held position for a variety of studios in the Montreal area before landing an opportunity at Ubisoft Montreal. During his time here, Matthew managed to synthesize his passion for knowledge and technical art to further pursue his interests by leading small RnD virtual reality projects that would later be recognized by his peers as innovative and a new approach to narrative storytelling.

Marco Plouffe

Over the course of his career, Marco was a character artist for a plethora of game development companies — including THQ®, BioWare® and Eidos® Montreal, later he co-founded Keos Masons — an outsourcing/concept company which provides character modeling and concept design services for video game, movie and collectibles industries. Since it’s inception, Marco has collaborated on projects for long list of clients. Including Ubisoft®, Warner Brothers®, Epic Games®, Gearbox®, Gameloft®, Blur®, Boss Key®, Tuque®, Volition®, Arkane®, SideShow®, McFarlane Toys® and Prime1® to name only a few.

Nick Oroc

Nick Oroc is a senior concept artist at Ubisoft, Montreal. His credits include: Prince of Persia: Warrior Within, Rainbow Six (Lockdown, Vegas, Siege and more), Splinter Cell (Conviction and Blacklist), Assassin’s Creed: Project Legacy, Far Cry Primal and Child of Light. Prior to this, Nick worked as a senior concept artist at Behaviour Interactive, where was involved in games such as WET, Iron Man and Rango. His artwork and tutorials have been published several times in 2dartist magazine and he has been a guest speaker at two Adapt Conferences (2008 and 2009). In addition to this, Nick was also a guest artist at the The Art of Games exhibition in Aosta, Italy and is an experienced teacher.
